By Way of Introduction
Because many people are somewhat anxious when they
visit a church without knowing something about it, we have prepared
this little article to help you understand more about us.
The Worship Is Simple
and Biblical
We truly pray that you will be impressed by the
simplicity of our worship. Our services are designed to draw you
closer to God and provide an atmosphere that will allow you to
worship in reverence (John 4:24). Since all we do is governed by the
Word of God, you will find us observing only those things contained
in it. We shall do our best to duplicate and pattern after the early
church of the Bible in everything we do. In our worship together you
will find the following activities occurring each Lord's Day.
Congregational Singing
The songs will be selected so as to stir within
you a desire to obedience and spiritual encouragement. To many our
song worship will be a highlight.
Prayer
The prayers are an outpouring of the heart, and
are designed to thank God for His blessing and request His watchful
care over us.
The Lord's Supper
The Lord's Supper, or Communion, is observed just
as
it was the night of our Lord's betrayal. Thanks will be given, and it
will be passed to another until the whole assembly has eaten, then
we'll all partake of the fruit of the vine in the same manner. This
is done each Lord's Day.
Teaching
The teaching is designed to instruct and encourage
you in the ways of righteousness. We trust you will leave feeling
greatly benefited from each message presented.
Contribution
The collection, or contribution, is taken only at
Sunday worship service. At this time each gives of his means as he
has been prospered and as he has purposed in his heart.
The People Are
Christians Only
Many in America are searching for a church. There
is much confusion in the religious world. There are many names and
creeds. We have no creed but Christ, accept no book but the Bible,
and wear no name but Christian. We believe that when we follow the
Bible only, we will be Christians only.
